A new store is coming to Toronto,  just east of Dragon Lady Comics in the current space of  The Toronto Cartoonists Workshop. Joe Kilmartin (Dragon Lady’s manager) will be managing this new front, Dragon Lady closes on February 1st Single Bound will open at the front of the TCW on February 8th.

Single Bound will open as a subscriber based  shop -so Dragon Lady customers can pick up their books from Joe just 60 meters away from Dragon Lady’s current location.  The goal is to combine a comic store (focused on Art Books & Graphic Novels) with a lounge area, gallery space, & event space. Single Bound will be an innovation in the comic scene for combining where you get your comics & where we party.

Single Bound has picked a great location, they will be joining the Toronto Cartoonist Workshop & Guerilla Printing in the location, we are just going have a one stop comic hub once this is up & running!

The store will also be working with the CGC to make the store a submission centre to get comics graded.

Again the store stock is based on subscription basis so if you are a Dragon Lady customer, let Joe know you will be continuing  your pull list at Single Bound. If you are a new customer contact Joe to start up a pull list at Single Bound.

All this info was found in a flyer at Dragon Lady, pick it up and chat with Joe if you have more questions. Joe Kilmartin, Sean Menard & Kevin Boyd announced this at the Tale of Sand release party  last night, we have video footage of the announcement, which will air with this week’s Quinntessential Comix.

There is some serious possibility that the name will actually be “The Comics Lounge”. As Kevin Boyd wrote, later that night, on the Joe Shusters Awards blog, the name is still under discussion
